I think you'd find Hunger Games on a list of best vampire romances, too. Some folks just see a list and have to put their favorite book on it. For the most part, people have been putting less known books up - and my TBR list thanks them. :)

The whole point of a list like this is to spread the word about books that may have been overlooked for some reason or another and are worthy of a reminder that they are out there and ready to be enjoyed. I don't think it is a popularity contest - though some people tend to make everything into a popularity contest - but that doesn't negate the good a list like this can do for wonderful books that have been overlooked.

Find new books. READ. ENJOY.

Dear Kindle-aholic: Frankly that would be fun, but I am an author so I would not be able to be objective given my four mystery novels and those of friends. I didn't do anything to promote this one. I just started it, some of my friends added books, and then it was off. You can send invites to your friends to vote on your list. I'd probably only do this if you're sure they'd like to do so.

I also think starting a list w/ "Best" makes it harder to find because so many lists start with that word.
