Kerri Please only add books that do not have sequels.

message 2: by Ðɑηηɑ (new)

Ðɑηηɑ You know, I made a list sort of like this one. I think yours great, may I add some more books? I mean, there's so MANY books with no sequel! Every second book or so stands alone...
Could you please, please, please vote at my list ? It's called "Books I wish had a sequel". You could look for the words:" sequel" or "goodreads".

THANKs

message 3: by Kerri (new)

Kerri Hi Danna,
Please feel free to add as many books as you would like. I will check out your list as well.
Happy reading,
Kerri :o)

message 4: by Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (last edited May 14, 2011 08:43AM) (new)

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads Should I remove A Wrinkle in Time? It has not one, but four sequels!

message 5: by Kerri (new)

Kerri Sure,
Thanks for picking up on that.
Kerri

message 6: by Lurk42 (new)

Lurk42 i started to vote because there are some great books on this list, but as a general rule, i don't like sequels. i find sequel books to be formulaic and ultimately to lose their power.

message 7: by Kerri (last edited Aug 07, 2011 06:11PM) (new)

Kerri I couldn't agree more. That is why I created this list, so that we could find some good books without sequels. Unfortunately some of the books that have been added now have sequels but I try to keep a lookout and remove any that I find do.

message 8: by Lurk42 (new)

Lurk42 great!!! i'll vote and add to the list.

message 9: by Meels (new)

Meels Who put Clan of the Cave Bear? There are about a dozen sequels to that!

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads Where'd you see it, Amelia? I'll remove it if I can find it.

message 11: by Meels (new)

Meels #218 at the minute, Susanna.

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads Thanks very much.

message 13: by Kerri (new)

Kerri This may be a silly question but how do you delete a book off of the list?

♥ Marlene♥ Hi there. I thought that I had discovered a list, called to die for stand alone books or something, then to my horror half of them if not more where again books of a series. Well this list was what I was searching for so thanks for making this. getting sick and confused reading so many YA dystopian books that are also part of series.

I loved lauren Oliver's book Before I fall. Highly recommend.

message 15: by Kerri (new)

Kerri Before I Fall is a great book. Glad you like the list.

message 16: by Kerri (new)

Kerri Does anyone know how to remove a book from the list? Beautiful Disaster (which is a good book) now has a sequel and should not be on the list.

message 17: by Matt (new)

Matt Zafon's The Shadow of the Wind (currently at #101) has two sequels, The Angel's Game and The Prisoner of Heaven.

message 18: by Kerri (new)

Kerri Yeah sorry but I still do not know how to remove books from this list. There are a few books now that have sequels.

message 19: by Kerri (last edited Jan 10, 2013 08:43PM) (new)

Kerri I think I've figured out how to remove books from this list that now have sequels - you have to delete them from your list of books that you voted for. For example: if you voted for "The Shadow of the Wind" then you have to delete the book from your list of votes.

♥ Marlene♥ Hi. I deleted shadow of The Wind. I checked first of course and Matt is right. There are 2 sequels.

message 21: by Debbie (new)

Debbie Took off the following books with sequels:
Beautiful Disaster
Reason to Breathe
The Giver
Hattie Big Sky (sequel coming out this year)
Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
Princess Academy
The Grimm Legacy (sequel coming out this year)
Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH
Stargirl
Inferno
Paradise Lost

Kerri wrote: "Please only add books that do not have sequels."

What about books like Gone with the Wind. Margaret Mitchell did NOT write a sequel but some other idiots tried. I feel they should not have been allowed to do such a thing. It should be protected.

message 23: by Evey (new)

Evey #5 Anna and the french kiss

It actually has a sequel D:

message 28: by Cillian (new)

Cillian Written in Red #415, has TWO sequels.

This is the type of thing that usually repels me from browsing Listopia: people's innate inability to read...on a READING website.
What part of "books with no sequels" is so confusing to them?
