message 1: by Megan (new)

Megan I can't WAIT to see The Bronze Horseman on the big screen. I am also looking forward to seeing "A Thousand Splendid Suns" but after seeing how "The Kite Runner" failed to translate, I'm a bit worried about how that will turn out.

message 2: by Nina (new)

Nina I'm also very excited for The Bronze Horseman! I didn't know Fallen was being made into a movie.

message 3: by Cici (new)

Cici WHAAAA? Shiver, Fallen, City of Bones, and Hunger games are being turned into movies?? Why was I not informed of this...

message 4: by Nina (new)

Nina Hunger Games and City of Bones are already being cast, I'm not really sure what's happening with Shiver, and I had no idea Fallen was even being turned into a movie.

message 5: by Cici (new)

Cici This is something they should announce on the radio, or T.V., or something. They should really tell more people about this stuff.
I've been wanting Fallen to be turned into a movie for like ever. And I just read Hunger Games. I don't think Shiver's going to be a good movie though... Everything's better as a book.

message 6: by Nina (new)

Nina They should find ways to let people know, I agree, especially now that it seems they have more commercials instead of previews before a movie. I actually agree with you about Shiver. I really like the book but I think it would make a boring movie.

message 7: by Cici (new)

Cici Yeah I think Hunger Games might be good though. I think the movie people are running out of ideas... They're making everything into movies, even the most idiotic things.

message 8: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm really impressed with the casting for Hunger Games. When I read the book I was hoping they'd make a movie mainly because I wanted to see what would be done with the costumes and the Panem citizens. Hope they do a good job with it!

message 9: by Deborah (new)

Deborah This blog http://www.earlyword.com/ maintains lists of books that are being filmed. Links to trailers for now playing and some upcoming films are included. It also has lists for in production and rights acquired.

message 10: by Nina (new)

Nina Was a little worried about John Dies at the End but the new trailer looks very cool. And I just found out Lionsgate has aquired the screen rights to the Chaos Walking trilogy, which is awesome because Knife of Never Letting Go is one of my favorite books!

message 11: by Lilac (new)

Lilac Deleted because the movie has already come out:
The Hunger Games
Breaking Dawn
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
The Help
The Perks of Being a Wallflower

Themis-Athena (Lioness at Large) Removed Isn't It Pretty To Think So?. Spam. No impending movie adaptation ascertainable.

message 13: by Susana (new)

Susana Cici wrote: "Yeah I think Hunger Games might be good though. I think the movie people are running out of ideas... They're making everything into movies, even the most idiotic things."

Lol I completely agree!!! That's what I've been telling people when we start talking about movies and I always point out how a lot of movies that are being presented were first books.

message 14: by Andrómeda (new)

Andrómeda you gotta be kidding me
really all of those books are becoming in movies?

Drew Can someone please remove The Maze Runner, Vampire Academy, The Book Thief, The Giver, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Ender's Game, The Sea of Monsters, Beautiful Creatures, Warm Bodies, Les Misérables, and I Am Number Four? These are all books that have movies made of them that are already out.

message 17: by Deborah (new)

Deborah In the process of deleting released movies, including ones from the two prior messages and Odd Thomas, Gone Girl, One for the Money, John Dies at the End, Carrie, what else have I missed?

message 18: by Drew (new)

Drew @Deborah, the only other one I can see is The Spectacular Now. Thanks for doing that!

message 19: by Becky (new)

Becky asdfghjkl I swear if Throne of Glass gets an adaptation it had better be TV because there are too many details to fit into a satisfactory film!

Also FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM!

Sammm WIP

So; um, not caring for sounding pompous and condescending, but this list really is over abused. The title and the description of the list is very straightforward:
Book To Movie Adaptations You're Most Excited About
The most exciting upcoming adaptations.

As in, it should be a list about actual upcoming FILM adaptation; not "adaptation" fans THINK/WANT to have existed. Will proceed to remove items that aren't qualified. And I'm also going to "be nice" and provide lists where YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN VOTING ON, rather than bombarding your wishes onto this list that clearly isn't the appropriate place for your votes.

Other Listopia lists:
Books that should become Movies
Books That NEED To Be Made Into Movies
Books That Should Be Made IntoMovies But Haven't
Books I'd Like to See on Netflix
This Book Series Should be a TV Show
YA Books Turned into Television Series
Books That Should Be Made Into Television Series/Tv Shows

You'd realize I provided links for TV shows as well, because a lot of the items on this list are in fact confirmed for shows instead of films, THEREFORE NOT FITTING TO BE ON THIS LIST.

Now, moving onto the documentation of removal. Consider yourselves called out; don't be that one fan that for some reason can't even follow the restriction, it really doesn't put the books you love so much in good light.
