Lindsey So far I've only read Savvy by Ingrid Law, but it was amazing and definitely gets my vote! I am hoping to read at least 4 more of the books mentioned on this list in the next week or so.

message 9: by Lindsey (new)

That's right. I think that it was named as winner on January 26th of this year, but in any case the Newbery vote was definitely announced in late January.

message 20: by Jack (new)

Jack Hi everyone,

I have created a new group called Goodreads All Sorts and I'd love for people to join it or just even just give it a look. It's a group that discusses anything and everything. There will be monthly group reads, movies, and music. There is a folder for everything you could think of. I'd really like if people could spread the word because I'd love for the group to be a success. Here is the link to the group:

Thanks very much,
Jack :-)

Hannah ♥️ So were 2009 Newbery Contenders published in 2008? I'm a little confused.

That's how the Newberys work. The ALA awards are announced every January or February, to the best books published the previous year.
