Caught in the Act
It's a staple of pulp fiction -- the book cover depicting a murderer about to strike, or lovers in a passionate (and possibly forbidden) embrace, or somebody engaging in some other apparently not-quite-kosher activity. It's not just pulp fiction, though. Sex sells, and so does crime ... and then again, there ARE books, of course, where a cover like that actually does sum up the whole book's content in a single image. Or does it?

This list reminds me of an idea for a list I've been pondering - covers that remind me of Cialis commercials. I don't know if they're in countries besides the U.S., but the ad here is a man and woman sitting in side by side clawfoot bathtubs, holding hands, out in nature - like on a beach, or in a meadow or something. It always makes me wonder, when the sexual urge suddenly comes over him, do they then transition into one of the bathtubs? Why not keep it simpler and begin in one, larger bathtub?

Yes, that "Lady Chatterley" cover is a great one, isn't it? It's the one that gave me the idea for this list, incidentally ...
