Books with ratings from 200,000 to 500,000
Only include books that have from 200,000 to 499,999 ratings on Goodreads. Books with more than that should be moved to the next list.
Helpful Librarians - if you help maintain this and other similar lists - please don't remove books from one of these lists for too many ratings unless you are willing to put it on the next list. That said, the "all books" lists below 80,000 have never had this rule.

That's impressive - I think at this point I've read and reviewed on goodreads only 72 (27 1M + 14 500K + 31 200K) of the top 219 books (27 1M + 40 500K + 152 200K = 219).

Books with ratings from 100k - 150k (~236 books)
Books with ratings from 150k - 250k (~166 books)
Books with ratings from 250k - 500k (~127 books)

Books with ratings from 100k - 125k (~147 books)
Books with ratings from 125k - 175k (~154 books)
Books with ratings from 175k - 250k (~101 books)
Books with ratings from 250k - 500k (~127 books)

so we'd turn 100k-200k into 100-125.
we'd turn 200k-500k into 250k-500k
and we'd create 2 new groups. sounds doable.

I now only need Steve Jobs to read all the books with 200k ratings. I'm on Chapter 6 or so.

Love these lists by the way! Thank you so much for them!

I did a check for duplicates and cleaned that up. btw if anyone wants to help with the maintenance of these lists, the easiest way is by voting for books that have only 1 vote. With the limitation of 100 votes, as the number of books that meet the criteria get longer - maintenance becomes more challenging.

There is good and bad to splitting these lists further. The more lists, the more maintenance. On the other hand any one person can only vote on 100 books. So a list with a lot more than 100 books requires at least two people working together.
Of course if there are more maintainers -
- that is people committed to voting on 100 books whether they have an opinion on the books or not
- and or librarians willing to remove books from a list and add it to the next.
Then it wouldn't matter how big the list got.
This list has 243 books - that's not too bad.
If you look back to the Sept 2014 messages you'll see that this has been discussed between myself (as the list creator) and Bennet (as the primary list maintainer). But at the moment Bennett has only voted on 22 books - which means a number of people are assisting him by keeping our votes very high up.
On the 100,000 to 199,999 list - Bennett is up to 46 votes - which is still okay.
But on the 80,000 to 99,999 list - in which I am the primary maintainer - I am at 86 votes - and pretty much whenever I add books I have to remove my votes - and I have ran out of votes.
This is even more an issue on the specific topic lists - for science fiction and fantasy and non-fiction and so forth.

If you are the creator of the list it is actually fairly easy.
Find the list you want to add a link to say
https: / / www . goodreads . com / list / show / 35080 . One_million_ratings_
And then you just convert it to html like so
"< a href="https : / / www . goodreads . com / list / show / 35080 " >One million ratings< /a >"
Note - the spaces in the urls are put there just so it can be seen in this message

I saw the discussion on splitting, and felt that if splitting is indeed done, the even splitting of books shouldn't be the sole criterion. I wouldn't be very interested in a list from 175k to 250k. For example, there are 91 books above 500k, but it's still split in two, which makes sense because one million is a pretty huge landmark. Similarly, I think the splits should occur at places like 300k or 400k rather than 175k.
Also, I was trying to make a list (an excel list, not a listopia list) where you can see an ordering of books from high rating to low with at least a million votes, or at least half a million votes, and so on; and I was using these lists for reference. For that, I find it helpful when a list has less than 100 books. Which is why I just created a list for books from 400k to 500k.
Also, if you ever feel like splitting this list, and just need more votes, you have my 100.
