Christy Stewart You must not be hip to a lot of sub-cultures because genres are attributed with being 'hard core' without meeting dictionary.com's parameters.

Might this list have been titled 'splatterpunk'?

Isaac I'm going to attempt to justify this list. I'm am thankful for being introduced to Zorachus from it.

Anyway,

Splatterpunk is a sub-genre of Horror so it doesn't really fit.

However, perhaps the word Hardcore CAN be used in this context as a truncated form of a longer genre.

Hardcore punk is now known only as Hardcore.
Therefore, hardcore Sci-fi/Fantasy could also be shortened in name to, simply: Hardcore
