I decided there should be a Listopia for my very favorite author.

Please vote for your favorites. As you know my fav is Afternoon of An Autocrat. I own most all her books which are mostly out of print.

ღ Carol jinx~☆~☔ Unfortunately, I don't think I've read that one. They are all good, though.

You may have read it as The Devil in Clevely but I don't like that title. The first part of the book is GREAT but the end kinda droops some. However, I like reading the first part so much its like eating a bar of dark chocolate!! Please ask friends to vote.

ღ Carol jinx~☆~☔ What is ablation? Is it surgery? That's great.
I may have read a lot more of them but I forgot a lot of books that I had read.

ღ Carol jinx~☆~☔ So is he good for awhile now? Is it a test or some kind of corrective thing?
Got back last night.

ღ Carol jinx~☆~☔ Yowtch! Does not sound like fun. He will probably feel better soon, though. I hope!

ღ Carol jinx~☆~☔ She wrote over 100 didn't she?

Over 100!!! I thought it was around 60 but then I own not one by Peter Curtis! I need to start looking for those. What is her other pen name? I forget it.

ღ Carol jinx~☆~☔ I forgot too. I think I saw a list that had 100. Maybe it was a dream.

You are probably right. I never seem to find an accurate list.

Mike (the Paladin) Thanks for the invitation, but I really haven't read enough Lofts to have a valid opinion. My wife liked her, but I've only read a few books by her.

Hi Mike,

Sorry, I forgot you haven't read her that much. Which ones did you read? Steven just read the first one in the Homecoming Trilogy. Its about a knight who goes to Spain for a tournament but is captured there and made a slave in the quarries. He is rescued by a lovely woman from north Africa who can ride Arab horses and gets him over the mountains and so they make it to England. She carries many jewels with her. I hope I got it all correct. Its been awhile since I read it.

Mike (the Paladin) It's been a long time I believe it was 2 or possibly all 3 of her house trilogy.

I don't remember the last one so time to read it again. I feel so sad when Walter dies. He takes care of Sybilla when her husband is gone.

Mike (the Paladin) I don't really recall much about the books at all. I read them at "the request of another".

message 16: by David (new)

David Elkin I have never read any of her books.

Bettyfrance I have read all of her books that I can find, maybe 60. All I have read at least twice, and some as many as 5 times. What a writer!!!

message 18: by Nancie (new)

Nancie I have read just about every book of hers, I love her style... She was a fantastic writer! If you like historical fiction she is your gal...never read anything by her that I didn't like. Devoured them all!

I worked at the local library when I read her books, so I never bought any, but have always loved her!!

Hi Nancie, You can find many of them at second hand book stores. A few have also been published again just recently like The Town House and Jassy. I read my first one when I was living in Suffolk.

Juliet Astley was her other pen name. She wrote The Fall of Midas and Copsi Castle under this name.
