John Burns The count of monte cristo is mentioned in Sleepers.
Theres a brief reference to Poe in Panic Room.
Frankenstein and Rashomon both appear in the superb Ghost dog: Way of the samurai.
In Peter Jackson's remake of King Kong one of the crew is reading Heart of darkness.
In Star Trek: First Contact, Captain Picard is compared to Captain Ahab.
