Some of the additions to this list are too young to interest the average teen, but you can't deny that they're "gentle", I guess...

I haven't read them. A WALK TO REMEMBER was on the original list, so I assume that one doesn't have anything "blushable". Are there specific ones on the list that you remember blushing at, Talia?

The Notebook should not be on this list!!

The key here is that this is a list for teenagers! I have no idea why people are adding books definitely meant for adults, with no teen appeal, and books meant for younger children. I'll take The Notebook off. I haven't read the book, but have seen the movie and can guess that there might be things to make somebody blush in the book!

Thank you for posting that link. My daughter has a hard time finding books that even she thinks are appropriate for her age. Seem to have a lot of dark themes though?

It's hard to find YA without dark themes right now. We would love suggestions if you find any (pub date 2013 or later)! Look for our listopias.

This goodreads list does not need to be 2013 or later. The people who posted that above were referring to the Tome list! Please remember to only list books for TEENS on this list, not books for younger kids. I'm not going to get rid of the younger books that are already on, but would appreciate only titles specifically of interest to TEENS, since that's the original intent of this list!! Thank you!

Teens are old enough to read about sex, drugs, violence and other dark themes. If books are intended for teens, they are going to be OK for them. Teens know about all that stuff anyway, even if you don't think they do. They know more then you think, no matter how innocent you think your child is.

Completely agree with you Nola. Some teens choose not to read about sex, drugs, and violence, though, believe it or not. To each his/her/their own!
