Successful Adult Fiction Authors Trying Their Hands at YA

The interest in Young Fiction has exploded since Harry Potter and Twilight. So if you know you can write why not switch - at least partly - to the genre that is attracting the readers and the film makers? There are surely plenty other reasons for doing the jump and I welcome every enjoyable piece of young adult fiction regardless of the writer's bio. This list is simply meant to be an observation born out of curiosity, nothing else. Care to help collecting examples? I think one young adult book per author (preferably the first one) would suffice.

Katlyn Hello, I moderate a small YA group called Reading is Life YA and we're currently looking for new members! Our books this month (September 2012) are Switched by Amanda Hocking and Heist Society by Ally Carter. We're also taking suggestions for our October books. We'll welcome all new members! http://www.goodreads.com/group/show/7...

oliviasbooks Do you think that anybody interested in employing a cover designer would click on a link of a post in a random list, a post without a profile picture and shitty, unprofessional spelling? That would amaze me, really.

oliviasbooks Thanks. I love to amaze people. I did not mean your art, but your spelling - considering the fact that your post was meant to be self-promotional I really wondered why you didn't even took the time to press the Shift button for caps now and then. But then I am only here for fun. I read and start lists, which others like ... or abuse for advertisment. A case of clashing goals.

oliviasbooks I wouldn't have said anything if you hadn't advertised your services on a list that has nothing to do with covers. Since I created that list I check the comments and the newly added titles. I feel responsible. I was a bit peeved to see that once again somebody not interested in talking about the content has misused the comment function. And I hope you take your work elsewhere. Maybe to lists or groups about cover design? I am passionate about books, about reading. Maybe that is something you in turn have difficulties to understand?

message 5: by oliviasbooks (new)

oliviasbooks Please don't avertise randomly anymore, okay?

message 6: by oliviasbooks (new)

oliviasbooks That is perfectly okay if they learn from them.

message 7: by oliviasbooks (new)

oliviasbooks I would have said it very nicely if yours had been the first spamming incident I had here on Goodreads. Sorry, that you came along as I just had enough.

message 8: by oliviasbooks (new)

oliviasbooks ... and I see you tried to listen at least. You have added an avatar.

oliviasbooks Good! I wish you luck!
