Jo * Smut-Dickted * I feel obligated to point out that this list covers a VERY wide spectrum in terms of content. There are BDSM books and non BDSM books so

1. Don't expect each book to contain BDSM - some here do not.

2. The spectrum of BDSM here goes from glitter/sugar kink (light spanking during sex, "funishments", some control in the bedroom but primarily just an alpha male type character) to much more hardcore with heavy S&M, Total Power Exchange (including 24/7), and Non Consent (rape or near rape) and Dubious Consent.

Frankly this is one time a Listopia on GR is a bit scary - as I know (from plenty of experience) some of the people who liked reading Fifty Shades of Grey would run screaming if they encountered something like Sacred Secrets (she is treated like a pet and must go to the bathroom in a communal "kitty box" in the club) to The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty (she is captured and does not consent).

If any of you all who are looking at this want some help figuring out what type of content you'd like based on your dip into 50 I recommend you join the BDSM Group here on GR. We are easy to find.

** The reason for my post is I have had some friends jump off the deep end and they wound up reading books that were just not for them - in one case the person felt traumatized. Most of them know I am a masochist so have then come to get help. The best help, to me, is a group of folks where you can make connections and get input. The BDSM group on GR is a safe place to explore and discover. All are welcome. We encourage self exploration (whether you want to embrace a BDSM lifestyle or it will always be books and fantasy to you) and education and limits are respected. This is only a warning - because 50 has introduced many people to the concept of BDSM and control but that does not necessarily get followed by a desire to read about someone denied an orgasm for a month, kept in a cage and objectified, or subject to harsh S&M that leaves welts, bruises, and blood. My advice to you is to read the reviews for the books and make sure you know what you are purchasing!

lezenmetkirsten Beautiful Disaster is in the list 3 times, currently places 7, 13 en 26.

Samatha S I loved the 50 shades of grey series but I am looking for a book written from the man's point of view instead of the woman's point of view. Does anyone have any suggestions?

♥♥Mari♥♥ I was sent an email so that I could vote on this list. At first, I was puzzled. I do NOT read erotica. I think it's SICK and DISGUSTING. How do I know, if I've never read this garbage? Well, I am aware that this genre usually contains BDSM, which I totally DETEST. And I know the plot of 50 Shades, thanks to Wikipedia.

When I scrolled down this list, I was shocked to find the novel "Eclipse", by Stephenie Meyer, included here. It's number 46 on the list. What the HECK is that book doing on this list?! What, somebody included it because the author of 50 Shades wrote Twilight fan fiction that she then turned into her own, depraved version of romance?!

I think there's another reason this book was included on this list.

For those of you who are not familiar with The Twilight Saga (and that's pretty hard to believe nowadays), PLEASE READ MY LIPS: NONE OF THE BOOKS OF THE TWILIGHT SAGA CAN BE COMPARED TO 50 SHADES. The books in The Twilight Saga do NOT contain ANY BDSM. Nor is there any abuse in them that can possibly be compared to that present in 50 Shades. If someone mentions how Jacob Black tried to "control" Bella Swan (by copping a kiss) in "Eclipse", please. There's NO comparison to 50 Shades here! This was ONE incident in "Eclipse", and, when Bella FORCIBLY objected, by punching Jacob in the jaw (thereby breaking her hand), he did not proceed further, and immediately started to help her with her hand. He could have taken advantage of her because she had hurt her hand. He could have raped her, right then and there. BUT HE DIDN'T. It's RIDICULOUS that this one incident should have been compared to the blatant, relentless ABUSE that Christian Grey heaps on Anastasia Steele in 50 Shades. There is absolutely NO comparison.

If I could, I would remove "Eclipse" from this list, as it has NO place here.

As for the rest of the books on the list, now I know which ones to avoid like the plague! Some of them are not obviously erotica, as you can't tell from the cover or title, so it's good to know that they are on this list!

I sure agree with you that some librarian should remove any of the books from the Twilight saga from this list. I hope that one will take the time to do it. For me this is also a list of books to carefully avoid like the plague. Ask your librarian friends. Thanks so much.

Yeah, NO Twilight book has any business being on this list! I will check into asking a librarian if "Eclipse" can be removed.

Thanks for the support, Autumn!! HUGS!!! <3 <3 <3 : ) : ) : )

Hugs to you also Mari! I am so glad you are also a fan of Twilight. You can ask for librarian status and they will probably give it to you.

Eclipse is on the first page but thanks for taking the time."

My list rule is that as soon as I encounter a page that has no books on it that I've read, I stop. Usually there's at least one on the first page, but not this time.
