message 1: by Debbie (new)

Debbie which one is it that the protangonist is named march and she hooks back up with her hometown boyfriend and becomes a battered woman? that was a haunting one.

message 2: by elissa (new)

elissa She's one of my favorite authors, so it's slightly hard to be objective, but...

Mzkiella I love Alice Hoffman. Her ability to put me in a place and time with the interesting people along with imagery that evokes memory and emotion is stunning.

Some of her stories are fantastic but others are boring!

Deborah Dwyer Debbie wrote: "which one is it that the protangonist is named march and she hooks back up with her hometown boyfriend and becomes a battered woman? that was a haunting one."
I just finished reading it 5 minutes ago! It's "Here on Earth" - very haunting!

message 10: by Christy (new)

Christy I read practical Magic and just fell in love with the way she writes such stunning imagery. Can anyone recommend another one for me?

message 11: by elissa (new)

elissa That's my favorite, but I also love THE RIVER KING, which is slightly darker, and TURTLE MOON and HERE ON EARTH (which was an Oprah book). Really, I recommend all of her books, but you started with my favorite. :)
