message 1: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie How on Earth can you have a list like this without Bram Stoker's Dracula?

message 2: by Aimee (new)

Aimee Missing Jeaniene Frost's Night Huntress books!

message 3: by Lori (new)

Lori You can add what you want.

And P.C. Cast is a teen series.

message 4: by Angela (new)

Angela Guilty Pleasures

The whole series is amazing!

message 5: by Morgan (new)

Morgan F The House of Night is a YA series, and a terrible one at that.....

message 6: by Renee (new)

Renee Rinard Had to add, The Chosen Sin by Anya Bast.
I found it after searching through amazon. First the cover appealed to me, but the excerpt was simply astounding at that.

message 7: by Audrey02 (new)

Audrey02 Although my votes are not in order, this is the best Paranormal Romance list I have come across. It will be used as my "to-read" list when I run low on my current list. Thank you for putting this together.

message 8: by Joanna (new)

Joanna Everyone has to read "The Vampire Huntress Series" by L.A. Banks. I swear you won't regret it,

message 9: by Azhar7n (new)

Azhar7n Morgan wrote: "The House of Night is a YA series, and a terrible one at that....."

I totally agree!!!

message 10: by Ana (new)

Ana you should add the vegas vampire series by Erin McCarthy!!!!!

message 11: by Lulu (new)

Lulu The fact Anne Rice doesn't appear until #31 confuses me. Really now! And I concur about the House of Night series.

message 12: by Angie (new)

Angie J. R. Ward should have 1st thru 8th place in stone. There are many other good books, but nothing I have seen tops her.

message 13: by Diana (new)

Diana Joanna wrote: "Everyone has to read "The Vampire Huntress Series" by L.A. Banks. I swear you won't regret it,"

totally 100% agreeeee!!!!! love the dark huntress series!!!!!

message 14: by ☽ Rhiannon ✭ (new)

☽ Rhiannon ✭ Mistwalker ☾ Why is Twilight on an ADULT list? I can't get away from that damned series!

message 15: by Missyb (new)

Missyb Lori (BNPL) wrote: "You can add what you want.

i loved the relationship between Bones and Cat in Frost's books

message 16: by Carrie (new)

Carrie I so agree with that!! There are some great books out there but the BDB is as good as it gets. Can't wait for the next one...I am so needing me some BDB!!

message 17: by Natasa (new)

Natasa Very throughout list. The books I have read and reviewed can be found in my page Vampire romance books

message 18: by ValHallaGirl (new)

ValHallaGirl Why are there teen series on here? It says Adult..doesn't it?

message 19: by Ifrah (new)

Ifrah These days I'm reading Sookie Stackhouse Series (True Blood) by Charlaine Harris. Absolutely amazing!

message 20: by Tasula (new)

Tasula I was so happy to see "adult" on this list description, and like many of you, disappointed to see the usual Twilight/Academy/House of c__p. And many of the listed books aren't romances either, but I added some that I think fit, altho the vamps may not be traditional blood suckers in some(Sunny, and CT Clamp).

message 21: by Joni (new)

Joni Stephanie wrote: "How on Earth can you have a list like this without Bram Stoker's Dracula?"

Check number 55 on the list.

message 22: by Joni (new)

Joni PNR wrote: "Why is Twilight on an ADULT list? I can't get away from that damned series!"

My feelings exactly!!

message 23: by Tallishia (new)

Tallishia Henderson I love this list! It's like you've compiled most of my favorite books into one place! But someone really needs to make a list of Lora Leigh's Breeds and Christine Feehan's Leopard People!

message 24: by Alexis-Morgan (new)

Alexis-Morgan Roark I agree. Why are there teen/YA series on the "adult" list? It's called "The Best Adult Vampire Romance Books." Look at the majority of the books on this list, those teen books don't hold a candle.

I'd love to see "Edward" go against ANY ONE of the real men on this list. LOL Ok. Having too much fun with this one. No offense to YA fans out there. Just having a bit of fun with that one.

message 25: by B.evil (new)

B.evil i cant believe everyone is harping on jr ward...i mean really she has said shit kickers everytime she refers to boots 4 the past 4 books...if this is the best of the best than oh shizzel cuz this is really predictable...its the reason i stopped with the series...

message 26: by Tasula (new)

Tasula I read JR Ward, Liu etc. when I first started reading vamp books, but got tired of the formulas- and esp. the true mate business. I much prefer authors like Keri Arthur, where there is actual sex and not necessarily with your "one true love", if you are looking for romances with vamps.

message 27: by B.evil (new)

B.evil Tasula wrote: "I read JR Ward, Liu etc. when I first started reading vamp books, but got tired of the formulas- and esp. the true mate business. I much prefer authors like Keri Arthur, where there is actual sex ..."

thanks for the suggestion because like you i am really tired of the formula...tribes of the vampire are the ones that are similar to that style that i actually liked...i actually am attempting writing 2 right now cuz im like they are so simple anyone with a minimal talent for writing could do this so we will see...im going over to www.4shared.com...right now to get it so thanks again

message 28: by Mikayla (new)

Mikayla I just had to say something, though I am indeed a teenager this list contains some of my all time favorite books (and I am not talking Twilight :D). I am super glad The BDB books are at the top of the list! I talk everyone's ears off about those books! And, I just finished the latest "Sookie" book.
I am really glad someone started a list like this, now I can add more to my "To-read" shelf.
P.S. B.evil Totally agree with the sh*tkicker thing, but something like that wont stop me from reading them, and Tasula the "one true love" thing is actually why a LOT of people read vamp books in the first place.
Happy Reading!

message 29: by Shanna (new)

Shanna It looks like there are some YA and Teen stories listed here, like Vampire Academy and Twilight. :)

message 30: by Lovinit (new)

Lovinit I read this series about 6 times. It was my first vampire romance and I was hooked ever since. This was a year ago. Since then I have been non stop reading.

message 31: by Lovinit (new)

Lovinit The fallen angel books by J. R. Ward are great also. This is one of the authors I started with paperback and then had to purchase on my Kindle as well.

message 32: by Lovinit (new)

Lovinit You have to get past the sh*tkickers and focus on the person wearing the sh*tkickers.

message 33: by Lovinit (new)

Lovinit We could be book twins. I also read book by an author named Raven Hart. There were only four or five books they were good.

message 34: by Irene (new)

Irene Teigen Joanna wrote: "Everyone has to read "The Vampire Huntress Series" by L.A. Banks. I swear you won't regret it,"

Is "the bitten" the first book? I can't find the series enywhere! I would love it if you could help me :D

message 35: by Lovinit (new)

Lovinit The Minion is first. Then the Awakening. Then the Munted and then the Bitten. It is a great series. It was the first vampire series I read. There are twelve books. The author has a wolf series and recently started a fallen angels series. Unfortunately she passed away recently. But enjoy the book she has left behind.

message 36: by Amy (new)

Amy House of Night and Twight series are both YA. I want adult book with sex and bad words to get a break from the sexually frustrating YA books. Although some are good books, they shouldn't be in this list.

message 37: by Tasula (new)

Tasula Amy wrote: "House of Night and Twight series are both YA. I want adult book with sex and bad words to get a break from the sexually frustrating YA books. Although some are good books, they shouldn't be in this..."

Did you find some books that were new to you that you DID like from this list? If you are interested in books with fairly explicit sex and a touch of romance but nothing gushy, try Keri Arthur, Sunny, Amy Lane, or Jory Strong- even some Kresley Cole isn't too romancy.

message 38: by Lovinit (new)

Lovinit Kerrelyn Sparks is a good author that has adult paranormal romance novels, and you may want to try Jeaniene frost she is on the list and the books are really good.

message 39: by Amy (new)

Amy Lovinit wrote: "Kerrelyn Sparks is a good author that has adult paranormal romance novels, and you may want to try Jeaniene frost she is on the list and the books are really good."

I love Jeaniene Frost, Night huntress series, and Chloe Neill, Chicagoland vampires. I've got Black dagger brotherhood on my to-read list, along w, Midnight breed, and Anita Blake vamp. hunter.

message 40: by Irene (new)

Irene Teigen I want to read a book with sex... any suggestions?

message 41: by Amy (new)

Amy Irene wrote: "I want to read a book with sex... any suggestions?"

Jeaniene Frost, Night huntress series.

message 42: by Christina (new)

Christina Williams Why are there some young adult books on here? I thought these were supposed to be for adults?

message 43: by Amy (new)

Amy Christina wrote: "Why are there some young adult books on here? I thought these were supposed to be for adults?"

That's what I said! Is there a way to delete them?

message 44: by Lovinit (new)

Lovinit Kresley Cole, Kerrelyn Sparks and L.A. Banks

message 45: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Ifrah wrote: "These days I'm reading Sookie Stackhouse Series (True Blood) by Charlaine Harris. Absolutely amazing!"

BLEH! Wait until to get to her most recent ones, they blow goats! AND, don't watch the tv series if you love the books! RUIN!!! SELL OUT!!

message 46: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Lovinit wrote: "You have to get past the sh*tkickers and focus on the person wearing the sh*tkickers."

omg! seriously! LMBO! You'll get realllly tired of some of the same phrases she uses in her books! Won't ever hear "sh*tkickers" and not think of BDB!!! :D "chignon" is another one!!! :P

message 47: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Tasula wrote: "I read JR Ward, Liu etc. when I first started reading vamp books, but got tired of the formulas- and esp. the true mate business. I much prefer authors like Keri Arthur, where there is actual sex ..."

There wasn't SEX in BDB!?! Wow, wonder what I was reading then?! Cuz I read some sex in those books! Reason why they're on my all time faves list! ;)

message 48: by Anni (new)

Anni I wish we had a rating system for romance/kink. Like a 0 is the YA stuff where physical love in only hinted at, a 5 can be monogomous romancy/true love stuff like Feehan, and Liu, etc. and a 10 can be the truly kinky Anita Blake series, etc. where the heroin has multiple partners.
That'd make things so much easier!

message 49: by Carolyn (new)

Carolyn Twilight is NOT an adult romance, AT ALL. -_- It should not be classified as literature for that matter.

message 50: by Pvd979 (new)

Pvd979 They are good to read. Hoping you enjoy~
