Only 3 people voted for it, compared to about 70 for Twilight.

I agree, commercial success does not mean a book is "bad". However, I think the Twilight books are "bad" as they are written badly, and the characters lack any depth at all.

Agreed. I'm not sure why these people always feel the need to clump Fantasy/Scifi/Horror together anyways. I've yet to see a poll like this for a mashup of Romance/Mystery/Westerns. ;)
I always love to see 50 Shits of Grey in "Worst [whatever]" lists, but seriously, isn't it supposed to be fantasy/sci fi/horror?
It doesn't even fit the genre, people add books without even reading what the list is about.

I'm not quite sure what you mean. You want to ban, tar and feather this user?
If yes, why?

Serves you right for drinking water, Bayaz. Shouldn't you be driking wine right now? :P

I think this person should just stop reading fiction. lol
I don't have a problem with her votes and I certainly don't think the solution is to write off an entire genre just because you disliked some books. The "if you don't like this or that book then stop reading this genre" argument is bullshit and a very poor debating tool.
But, I guess that respecting other people's opinions is too much to ask in Good "Troll Land" Reads, no?
Now, probably Lazer's comment was tongue in cheek, I can't tell. But if this Roseanne character actually believes that this user should be banned, tarred and feathered then I suggest she visits a shrink ASAP. She's obviously disturbed.

Pratchett's "Making Mon..."
What would be the point of removing someone's vote on a list where they are being asked to vote for books they didn't enjoy?

Harry Potter is very good, but the best of all time? Really? I think it's the best children's fantasy of all time, but not fantasy over all.

Avaminn, note I said "arguably". That doesn't mean it is, just that it is accepted by a decent chunk as the best.

And it still hasn't been removed...

My opinion. This list. Sucks.

Added starship troopers. Military science fiction needs to die already, it's not the forties anymore. (I could add any number of examples of military science fiction, space opera, YA books and paranormal romances; because almost nothing good comes out of those genres [there are exceptions] but I won't)

There are plenty of "best" lists. Perhaps one needs a counterbalance.

I think Aristoi fits into that category.

You say military science fiction needs to die. Starship Troopers was written in like the 50s, almost 70 years ago...
