I read this book twice. It really impacted the way I do work.

I am a medical physicist, with responsibilities in the clinic as well academically. After I read this book I stacked all of my rote clinical duties into two-week piles and plowed through them, leaving months to focus on my academic work as well as clinical projects that meant a lot to me.

I also have applied this at home with my writing, and likewise got way more productive.

It's a pretty good book. I view it as a wake-up call to a distracted world: just focus on one thing at a time and you'll be a happier, more productive person.(less)

Normalmente odio scrivere recensioni, penso infatti che la mia scrittura sia abbastanza mediocre e non penso di avere mai grandi concetti da aggiungere alle migliaia di recensioni già reperibili online, ma questa volta sento il bisogno di fare un'eccezione.

Considerazioni su come il lavorare concentrati generi valore (scoperta dell'acqua calda) a parte, aiuta a comprendere posizioni radicali contro l'interconnessione / l'internet / i social network (es. Franzen) avendo un approccio moderato e poco incline alla provocazione.
Meno generale di quello che vorrebbe sembrare, si rivolge a una classe particolare di lavoratori della conoscenza, ma risulta comunque una fonte di spunti pratici per migliorare la concentrazione quotidiana.
