SS: How would you describe your life in only 8 words?
RC: Unexpected turns in the road, love and adventure
SS: What is your motto or maxim?
RC: perseverance furthers

SS: With whom in history do you most identify?
RC: I admire the great French writer, Colette--for both her writing and the way she lived her life
SS: Which living person do you most admire?
RC: Hard to say: I do have a huge crush on Michelle Obama, but who doesn't?
SS: If you could acquire any talent, what would it be?
RC: I would like to be a great tenor sax player.
SS: What’s your greatest flaw?
SS: What’s your best quality?
RC: probably that I laugh easily, and am hardly ever bored
SS: Who is your favorite fictional hero?
RC: Impossible to choose, there are so, so many. Most of my heroes are fictional
SS: Who is your favorite fictional villain?
RC: Richard III, (though he is historical as well, but in Shakespeare's version who can resist him?)
SS: If you could meet any historical character, who would it be and what would you say to him or her?
RC: I would like to meet Anton Chekov and spend a weekend with him. Maybe we would talk about writing, maybe we wouldn't. But he would be great company and I would love to go the theatre with him and watch one of his plays performed by the Moscow Art Theatre.
SS: What is your favorite occupation, when you’re not writing?
RC: Walking, eating, reading, being with my friends and family--guess I can't choose one . . .
SS: What’s your fantasy profession?
SS: What 3 personal qualities are most important to you?
RC: warmth, humor, intelligence
SS: If you could eat only one thing for the rest of your days, what would it be?
RC: that's easy: chocolate and raspberries
SS: What is your greatest achievement?
RC: Bringing up two beautiful daughters (still a work in progress)
SS: If you could be any person or thing, who or what would it be?
RC: Maybe THE tenor sax played by Lester Young
