HD: Sitting in bed under my electric blanket, reading books to my kids.

SS: What’s your greatest fear?

HD: Driving through the Lincoln Tunnel in a car filled with bumblebees--that's my Fear Factor.

SS: If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would you choose to be?

HD: New York City, with all of these millions of people living together in relative peace. It astonishes me.

SS: What are your most overused words or phrases?

HD: "Awful" and "Gross"

SS: If you could acquire any talent, what would it be?

HD: Pool shark

SS: What is your favorite occupation, when you’re not writing?

HD: Cooking

SS: What do you regret most?

HD: Not having enough time . . .

SS: What is your greatest achievement?

HD: Being a mom--that's what brings the joy tears full on.

SS: What’s your greatest flaw?

HD: I like the telephone in the age of email.

SS: What’s your best quality?

HD: I always know exactly what size container the leftovers will fit into! I'm serious. And I can do a split.

SS: If you could be any person or thing, who or what would it be?

HD: I wanted to be a gymnast, but I'm just too big and not graceful enough.

SS: What trait is most noticeable about you?

HD: Either my big teeth or my big feet, depending where you're looking.

SS: What is your biggest pet peeve?

HD: Spitting on the sidewalk.

SS: What 3 personal qualities are most important to you?

HD: Honesty, sense of humor, respect

SS: If you could eat only one thing for the rest of your days, what would it be?

HD: A bagel special. I've been eating them for forever. Toast a bagel, melt swiss cheese on it, add spicy mustard and a summer tomato. For breakfast.
