KF: That was cool! What's next?

KF: Let me be worthy of my horses.

SS: Who are your favorite authors?
KF: Jane Austen, Vikram Seth, Jane Smiley, Donna Leon, Craig Lesley, Anthony Trollope, Charles Dickens, Patrick O'Bryan, E. M. Forster, Ford Madox Ford, Sandra Cisneros, in no particular order
SS: What are your 5 favorite books of all time?
KF: Persuasion, A Suitable Boy, Horse Heaven, Barchester Towers, Bleak House
SS: What is your birthdate?
SS: What were your previous occupations?
KF: Stall cleaner, lifeguard, trade-books buyer for a college bookstore, financial development grant writer, printer's assistant. I've been teaching English as a second language since 1988.
SS: What was/is your favorite job?
KF: The one I have now, ESL and basic college skills teacher, co-teaching with teachers of accounting, diesel mechanics, collision repair, corrections, and law enforcement. Almost as much fun as writing.
SS: Where did you go to high school and/or college?
KF: I went to three high schools: Falls Church HS and JEB Stuart HS, both in Virginia, and Heidelberg HS in Germany; and two colleges: the American University in Paris and Grinnell College in Iowa. My MA is from Boise State.
SS: Name of your favorite composer or music artist?
KF: Hard to do! My current fave is Respighi, those Ancient Airs and Dances.
SS: What is your favorite movie?
KF: I think, still, Stand and Deliver
SS: What is your favorite television show?
KF: Big Love!
