KT: Flying. Which is not so great considering that my job as a journalist calls for me to constantly travel.

KT: The Galapagos Islands!

KT: I'd bowl a perfect 300 every time.

KT: Writing this book.

KT: I have to pick one?

KT: That I'm fascinated by people.

KT: Friday Night Lights

SS: Do you have one sentence of advice for new writers?

KT: Get over this idea of "finding your voice." You don't find it—it just is. Just write things the way you want to write them.

SS: What comment do you hear most often from your readers?

KT: That they love the "characters" in my book—which is exactly what I want to hear because the people I got to follow for CHEER! are amazing.

KT: Being a journalist/author!

KT: I went to high school at Jordan High School in Durham, North Carolina. Then I headed to Barnard College in New York.

KT: The Cure

KT: Any documentary. I can't get enough of them.

KT: Buffy the Vampire Slayer
