Like every dynamic duo, Krista and Becca Ritchie have their own unique origin story. Identical twins, they grew up reveling in their differences—one's a science nerd and the other's a comic book geek—but they always shared an all-consuming passion for telling stories. When they joined forces, the result was books bursting with chemistry and hot heroes.

This month the authors of Addicted to You and Amour Amour are kicking off a new series about a family of sexy billionaires, America's closest thing to a royal line. The first book, Damaged Like Us, is Maximoff Hale's story. The headstrong prince of the tabloids thinks he can handle anything…until he meets his new around-the-clock bodyguard, a gorgeous, MMA-trained Yale graduate who's more than his match in every way.

The Ritchie sisters share the book that first sparked their fascination with intoxicating wealth and celebrity, the fictional characters they long to meet in real life, and the sequels they can't wait to read.

Krista: I instantly fell in love with The Tea Rose by Jennifer Donnelly. To this day I can still picture the historical East London setting. The romance is heart-pounding, and Fiona was so fierce that I was rooting for her from page one.

Becca: When The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot was released, I related so much to Mia, this young girl who was a little bit awkward, a little bit silly, a little bit royal. (Well, except for the royalty part.) Truly, I was madly in love with watching Mia fall in love. I devoured the whole series.

Krista and Becca: Our fascination with blue-blooded wealth, celebrity culture, privilege, and large ensemble casts and families started in our teens with The A-List by Zoey Dean. In Damaged Like Us the romance is very focused on "American royalty" and bodyguards.

Krista: My next read is Mature Content by Santino Hassell and Megan Erickson. It's a romance between internet stars. (And I just have to meet main character TrashyZane!) I loved Strong Signal as well, so I can't wait to jump back into the Cyberlove series.

Becca: My last read was Grip by Kennedy Ryan, and it's now one of my favorite romance novels of all time. I'm waiting on pins and needles for the sequel, Still.
