I REALLY gave this book an honest effort. It has been on my nightstand for months and I keep trying, but it is not what I thought it would be. I thought it would be like a memoir of the book club and there would be more conversation amongst the women in Tehran, but it is more about the inner thoughts of the author and the many thoughts she had during a turbulent time in the history of her country.

I found it very sluggish and difficult to read. Maybe I am just too frivolous. I have picked it up ...more
