I was definitely not in the target demographic as a reader for this book. Somehow I managed to make it through the whole thing. I thought the concept was interesting at first, it's like American Idol except the contestants are killing each other. It kinda reminded me of that old Schwarzenegger movie 'The running man'. i love that this is the new "young adult" movie trilogy. The concepts and the moral questions that it raises should always be something people are thinking about especially when teens are starting to become themselves. I love the premise, the capital, the districts, the enforced hunger and work on the proletariat. I love certain characters like, Peeta, and Haymitch. They are crafted so well.

Better than I expected. Though it still leaves me with the expected desire to rewatch Rollerball (the old one with James Caan). Enjoyable quick read. 4.5 of 5.
