I've postponed this book for so long, since I didn't like the fairytale and cyborg plot. But damn I regret not reading this book earlier. This book was amazing, it was so well written and surprisingly despite the predictable things like that Cinder was (view spoiler) and it wasn't like mindblowingly like how Sarah J. Maas writes plot twists but it had their own original plot.
Though I don't really like Kai that much, he's too perfect. ...more

The best way to describe the book Cinder is that it is basically an altered version of cinderella.

Just like in cinderella, cinder's adoptive dad dies and she is left with an "evil" step mother and sister along with a nice sister. Cinder is forced to work with no money for herself. everything she makes legally goes to her step mother. Another comparison is that there is a super hot prince, Kai.( wink, wink.)

Unlike the original story, Cinder is a cyborg. She was supposedly in a tragic hover( future car) accident when she was eleven. She woke up as a cyborg and had no memory of anything that happened. With being a cyborg comes some special abilities such as the ability to detect lies, download information inside her head instantly with a thought, and other things like overlaying her eyesight with diagrams. These abilities aid her daily whether she wills it or not. instead of being blonde, Cinder is actually brunette. alternatively to mice, Cinder's best friend is an android named IKO who has a personality glitch. IKO not always able to tell if she is human or a robot.

Cinder lives in a city called New Beijing in the country of CommonWealth. The country is ruled by an emperor and incorporates the may cultures that make it up. In this time in history everyone has an ID chip implanted in their wrists; you use it for practically everything.Without it you basically cease to exist. This country, along with other parts of the world, is suffering a plague that no one has yet survived. Will finding a cure cost them everything?

Another strange and creative aspect is that their are aliens called Lunars living on the moon. Lunars have a special gift or ability to use bioelectricty to make people see, hear, do, and think things that aren't real. They have the power of brainwashing. The Lunars are ruled by an evil queen named Levana. She always put up a "glamour" making her more beautiful than she really is. Because she is ruthless and wicked Lunars are believed to be evil which is not necessarily true.

The whole book is basically about Cinder finding herself and learning more about the past she can't remember.

The only complaint is that there was not enough Prince Kai and Cinder action.
overall this was an outstanding read that was very interesting, creative and unique. Amazing job!:) ...more
