4.5 stars
This was one of the best 'Coming Of Age' books I've ever read! Sure many things here are common to coming-of-age stories -there's first love and family drama etc- but Fangirl is also about writing, and being a fan, and how being a social misfit in college feels. The characters, the story, her college experience, the universe of fandoms&fanfictions- everything felt real.
I know how Cath feels, I've been there, sometimes I still go there. Being a fan, being a part of a fandom is such a dif ...more
3.5 Stars!
I definitely thought that this book was extremely cute. It reminded me how awkward it was to meet a guy and then like the guy and then start experiencing life with that one person. It's thrilling and scary at the same time, especially when it's your real first true love, ya know. It takes awhile for the shyness to go away, but your curiosity overcomes you at times. lol.

Cather and Wren (Catherine), twins, started college together. Cath decided on an English Major, while Wren wanted to be a Marketing major, and work in advertising like their father. In High School the two sisters did everything together, even write fan fiction about the uber popular Simon Snow Book Series. Fanfixx was their domain; Magicath and Wrenegade were their aliases for writing fan fiction, Simon and Baz love stories. Magicath has 20,000+ fans! Cath went on alone to write her story "Carry

3.5 stars. i guess?
I wouldn't have had any problems giving this 5 stars but the ending was just disappointing.
I loved Eleanor & Park Even though it was open-ended, it made me think happy thoughts. That was a great way to end that book! This one, however, just left me hanging without anything to grasp on to. (Yes, i know they are two different books but come on.)
There's just.. TOO MANY issues that weren't resolved here. Now that i think about it, maybe instead of all those Simon Snow snippets, th ...more

Wow.
I'm so in love with this book. It got me thinking about my freshman year and about my own personality issues. You see Cath? I feel like she's my reflection on the mirror - I'm not Wren, of course. Everything she is, she does, she loves, she believes, her struggles... is so identical to me/my experience, or even exactly the same.
Levi? Levi is just the cutest, funniest and understandable guy on Rainbow's books (Sorry, Lincoln. I love you too. And Park).

I enjoyed reading this one, but I felt like the conclusion should have been longer...
