I loved Anthony Doerr's previous title and couldn't wait to read his new book. Excited to start Cloud Cuckoo Land,I was surprised with the disjointed format and subject matter. Like others, I was quick to dismiss the story as I was fixated on "All the Light We Cannot See."

Read this for book club. It took a bit to really get into it, but it was time worth spending. The more we talked about it, the more I realized that I did REALLY love the book. It was like a healthy snack that you surprisingly realize is actually quite tasty.
DNF. no interest in the characters and a little too weird for me.
