What Members Thought
This was a book I had started and didn't finish before my copy expired. I found it slow and felt distant from the main character. During my second attempt, I enjoyed it more and found the slowness of it relaxing. I still felt distant from the main character, but I enjoyed it more as I felt that I learned more about the historical aspect. After finishing, I looked up the real person, Belle Greene because she was a fascinating person.

This is an entertaining, well-written book about the real-life personal librarian to the Morgan Librry. The plot moves very well, the characters are engaging and the issue of race is covered with intelligence. I would love to have known the lead character. She was remarkable. Highly recommended!
This was a great book, a great story that I do believe just needed to be told. I am glad this book was recommended to me.
Really good!! I had no knowledge of this story. But the ending dragged a little and her crazy romance was a little hard to understand.
