This book is an 80's geek's paradise. I grew up on video games, D&D, and John Hughes movies, and I want to have this book's babies. Not everyone will appreciate this book, but 90% of the references made me squeal with delight. And I loved the plot, pacing, and even the clever dialogue. Read this book. ...more

Ahhh-Mahhh-Zing! :D
Was für ein Buch, ich bin ganz hin und weg. Die letzten 3 Tage konnte ich es einfach nicht aus der Hand legen (zum Glück hatte ich wenigstens etwas Freizeit zum lesen)! Die Story ist kurz umrissen: Im Jahre 2044 ist die Erde so heruntergelebt, dass viele Leute verarmt sind und statt im realen Leben Unternehmungen zu machen oder zur Schule zu gehen spielt sich fast das ganze Leben in einem virtuellen Universum ab. This was a book that I could not put down. I got the audio version of it and listened to it. Wil Wheaton narrated it and I think he did a wonderful job. I thought it was funny that the book was full of 80's trivia type stuff and Wil Wheaton's name was mentioned in the book. For those who do not know, he is a Star Trek Next Generation alumni.

So I really enjoyed the 80's flashback, and the mentioning of arcade games I played as a kid. I was a teen in the 80's so I feel this book was written for me ...more
