What Members Thought
With all the buzz surrounding this book and since it was chosen by my real world book group, I tried to give this one a chance. In fact, I gave it multiple chances -- print and audio.
And after 25% of the book, I wasn't invested enough in any of the three rotating characters enough to keep going.

The hype of this book just kind of killed it for me. It started well and I was interested in the different characters and the rich historical legends. But then it all just muddled together; all the characters began to seem the same and they were all so whiny. The legends and folktales didn't make any sense. Was magic passed down through lineage or just a random bestowing by the gods? I never got which one was true. For being one best YA books of the year, it just fell flat for me. Maybe listenin
