An EXCELLENT, timeless classic. The story of an "underdog" and her quest for love, independence and self-knowledge. Appropriate for all females -- whether in the 21st century or (when Charlotte Bronte wrote it) in the 19th century. Addresses all 4 types of love: affection (family); friendship; romance; and unconditional love (God). Also deals with gender inequality, social position plus much symbolism.
