While I'm a purist at heart and didn't enjoy Circe, I had fun reading this book, at least the last third. I love the story of the Trojan War. I didn't need this rewrite of Achilles' relationship with Patroclus but I suspect the LGBTQ community probably did. Representation matters and why not intuit this story, particularly in the Greco Roman world where we know this was common enough. The love was deep, well written, and definitely pulled my heartstrings in the end! ...more
