Alas, when you read something as glorious as "Gone Girl" you tend to want to read more from the author of said glorious book... unfortunately Flynn's earlier writing left me tid bit... disappointed.

Now now, I know what yer thinking: that I'm being such a Debbie downah wench. Or that Wet Hot American Summer is one of the greatest movies ever. No really, I have no idea what your thinking, but I swear I'm intrigued.

Shelves: book-club-reads

Wow...twisty, dark and creepy at times. Totally different genre for me...and that colors my review for sure, but wow, very well written. I Definitely was engrossed in Camille’s story and the mystery had me guessing until the very end.

Interesting plot, if somewhat predictable for anyone who has taken even high school psychology. The characters are all so messed up - beyond messed up, it isn't even believable. Also, the women are inherently flawed while the men are either boring or saviors. I think I am talking myself out of the three stars and down to two... ...more
