What Members Thought
Cool storyline...Joenick and I read it together. He LOVES it! It was kind of like Harry Potter for early elementary-aged kids. We're excited to read the next ones together! (and see the movie tonight!)

This was the first in the Percy Jackson series. I had watched the movie which made me want to read the books. The first one was good. Percy goes in search of Zeus' lightning bolt which was stolen. I liked the tie back to Greek mythology. It made me want to read more about Greek mythology.

When I saw the preview for this movie, I thought I would check out the series. This first one did not disappoint. I may have found a worthy successor to Harry Potter. The characters are interesting and fun, and I love the use of mythology to create an alternate world.
We are reading this aloud as a family. So far so good (although Michael thinks it is a rip off of harry potter - too similar).
