I truly loved this book. I thought, at the beginning, that I was going to hate it. Ove was crotchy and a real grump about everything. Very unloveable, right? But this book was such a gift. Highly recommend!

It took me much longer to read this due to sickness but I am finally finished! It was an outstanding book, a definition of true love and so much more. The family that appears out of thin air brings Ove back into life and is a blessing in disguise, it has to be Sonja watching over him telling him to never give up on life. A book is good when it can turn on your waterworks. Ove epitomised the "grumpy old man" so perfectly, that when his back story was unravelled, it completely won me over. I found him deeply relatable and could connect to the feelings of warmth that the other neighbours must have felt towards him. His love for Sonja was also full of tenderness, in a way only a couple of the old generation could share. This book is a true gem.
