Shelves: england, vampire, magic, witches, tower-team, romance, paranormal-romance, time-travel, parnormal, supernatural

So this book was great. When I first started it felt a little slow, but I must confess when I started reading I was rather tried so that might have played a slight role in the slowness of the book. Hence the 4 stars rather then 5.

I found the the information about alchemy fascinating, the whole story is so interesting. The descriptions of everything were perfect (to me at least). I can not wait to find out what happens next. I'm a excited and a little scared, not because the book is scary, I'm s ...more

I picked it up out of curiousity, and did not realize it was the first in a trilogy. And it kind of leaves a person hanging...
Am I sorry? Not really. The 2nd book should be in my mailbox in two days.

It started out really good & even through the end, I liked the main idea of the book & the fact that it was actually written by a real historian made it even more interesting.

But the main character, Diana (a witch), was So Annoying. She started out fine, but 5 minutes after the gorgeous male vampire shows up, she's a quivering mass of stupidity & desire. (Such a CLICHE! Who doesn't enjoy imagining the fantastical awesomeness that could possibly exist in the everyday? This book was great in imagining the realm of magical creatures in our every day. I could do without the romance part of things, but I can also see how it is part of the overall story line and helps to propel the plot along. Fun read overall. ...more

This is one of those books that was HOT a few years ago, and I was turned off by the hype at the time. I loved it however, and I wish I had read it long ago! Such fantastic world building and interesting characters. I can’t wait to see where the story goes in the next books.
