so, I'm torn - I'd rate this a huge complete loving 5 stars - except I don't like Daemon. Even at all. Not even a little.
I love Katy. She is sassy, loyal, and so so so incredibly strong. She is prickly, but hey - only to the people who aren't nice to her.
And that's pretty much Daemon. He's an ass. He's a jerk. His ONLY redeeming quality (and it's not his abs ladies! This is not a redeeming quality!!!) is his love and loyalty to his sister.

Fantastic! I was unsure how I was going to like Daemon because I liked Dawson so much in Shadows and well he wasn't the most pleasant person in it. And yes he's still acting like an asshat but I didn't mind it. It helped in the tension development between him and Katy. Which is always plus for me.
As I read this I was literally laughing out loud, some made grinning like fool some of the digs and remarks where just great. So can't wait to read the next book.

If I were a 13 y.o. I reckon I'd love this, but I'm not, so it was just OK. I read it for a challenge & doubt I'll bother with any more of the story... unless I need another challenge book, I suppose.
I'm quite disappointed that is mostly just a teenage romance, with Katy displaying all the angst that accompanies such things, & Daemon reacting in a more otherworldly way. Why the ridiculous name, Daemon? Pronounced correctly, it would be Demon, didn't anyone around him think that was weird, or are ...more

I have completely and utterly fallen in love with this book.. Can't wait to read the rest of the books in the series! Definitely worth checking out.
