So I go and pick up this book, I'm pumped. So very excited to be getting back to Sookie and Eric ( wipes drool off my chin). So picture if you will, I have the bottle of red open. I am all cozy and set to read. I stop and go "hmmm". Shake it off as the normal okay we are at the start of the book lets recap for those who might not remember.

So I take some more sips and continue on. Stopping yet again, I go "hmm, um, yeah". We are hitting somewhere past the 100 mark and I'm getting a little worrie

From what I remember of the last book in the series, this book is much better than that one... I believe there is actually some sort of plot. As always, I swooned over Eric... Charlaine Harris is getting better as this series goes along. There is the usual suspense, body count, good v evil (although with these creatures, perhaps it's all relative) de

I liked the back story we gained in this addition to the series. Sookie's grandmother and her fairy relations were explained in further detail, which helps to understand Sookie's circumstances more. Sookie's character, too, is showing evolution in her understanding of who she is and who she has to be, considering her gift and connections. There is still the witty repartee between characters and the amusing asides from Sookie's thoughts that make this series so enjoyable. I think the next novel w ...more

This was the perfect book to take on my trip to SC, fun and fast. The Sookie books might not be as strong as they once were but they're still entertaining. This one contained more action than the last one though a bit too much blood. I wonder how many more supernatural creatures Harris can introduce in the next book. ...more

More like 3.5. There was a lot of things going on in this book. Plus character development. I am looking forward to see how she takes these last couple books.

I'm letting go of this series. I read this book 9+ years ago and haven't felt like picking up #12.
