This book was slow-going, but not because I didn't enjoy it. There is simply a lot here. I'd find myself going over a page again just to make sure I'd absorbed it.
I am fascinated with nanotechnology, not that I actually claim to understand it. Imagine if the whole world were based around it, everything from food to health care to weapons controlled at the molecular level.

This is not my favorite Stephenson book, but it did keep my attention throughout, which is saying a lot since it is so long. But neither the world-building nor the characters quite caught my imagination the way the author's books usually do. Or maybe it's that the central plot device (view spoiler) wasn't very convincing. In any case, I thought it was a good book, not a great one.
