I know of someone who caught and successfully brought in a large sturgeon, all by himself over a period of several hours. I was not there, but his fellow fishermen will forever hold him in godly esteem. Until I heard this, I had no idea it could take that long to catch a fish. Therefore, I do not for a minute believe one man, much less an "old man" could have single-handedly pulled this large of a fish in. But, of course, it IS a fish story. And, of course, the fish is a symbol for the struggle

I first read this book in high school and I hated it. Now at 26 I thought I just might like it more. Maybe a little. I Can't say that I will ever truly enjoy this book.
