This book was quiet and subtle, yet made a large impact. This book doesn't critique fear, inability to help others, killing, or hate. What it does is allow you as the reader, to question how you would deal with those concepts in horrible times. Would you be able to jump out as bullets are reigning down and save someone that is hit or would your fear hold you immobile...there is no judgement in this book in regards to either action. Humanity is individual in how we define and embrace it.

This book had a profound impact on my mind as well as my heart.
Wow, I truly enjoyed reading this book on the spoils of a different kind of nonsensical war. I like that it was based on a true-life experience, however I would have loved to hear more about the true cellist. I liked that you were able to peak into the mindset of three very different people coming from three different walks of life. How indifferent they really were.
I loved this story! I even liked the ending because it fit so well the personality of the young woman. This book is about the separate yet intertwining lives of four people in Sarajevo during war. Each character was well-developed and inspired me to care about their life. Wonderful book!
