Enjoyed this book. The comparison to Mma Ramotswe in Alexander McCall Smith's books is undeniable. I learned things I didn't know about Rwanda and the issues there. It took a little lightly some issues like female 'circumcision'. The aids epidemic has really devastated these countries. It was very uplifting in it's support of female education and development. I look forward to more books by this author.

I thought this was a great book. It is little stories in one book about a woman who makes cakes for special occasions. It takes place in Rwanda, Central Africa. I really liked the main character of Angel. She is a smart, level headed woman.
This is a lovely book that reminds me of The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency, only more sensitive and hopeful.

A beautifully written and thought provoking book. If you like the No 1 Ladies' Detective Agency series you'll probably like this.
