I have wanted to read this book since Barak Obama ran for US President four years ago. At last I have done so. What I have found is a book written while he was a Senator that outlines his thoughts about US politics and how to improve America...to right some of the wrongs he saw. I found this book quite interesting and well written. I'm not particularly knowledgable about the American political system or history but after reading this I will probably read up in these areas. One of the things that came through very strongly is the polarisation in debate in America and I think this is not just confined to the US. It is one of the things that concerns me about the climate in Australia as well.

I was originally a Hillary supporter, although I liked and respected Obama, too. I read this recently to give me a crash course in Obama, so I could catch up since I hadn’t been following him as closely during the beginning of the race. A great read if you want to learn more about what he believes and how he thinks he can moved the country forward.
