AMAZING! I have no other words. This book was phenomenal. The characters were lovable and the story was sweet. It left me feeling warm and fuzzy, with a cheesy smile on my face. Heartwarming doesn't even begin to describe it. I can say safely that this is the best book I've read in a long time. I look forward to reading other works by TJ Klune. ...more

Sweet, charming, enchanting, endearing, delightful - all of those words could accurately describe The House in the Cerulean Sea. This charming book about 40 year old almost non-descript Linus Baker who is a case worker for DCMY or Department in Charge Of Magical Youth and his journey to the Cerulean Sea could be easily adapted as an animated feature film. A very sweet story of a diffident inspector of homes for young orphaned magical creatures. Linus Baker arrives at a very special orphanage to be both charmed and terrified by the children and the adult in charge of them.
