A high quality debut, the procedural was great & the crimes very creepy.

Helen Grace is an excellent copper with some distinctly dark demons that she deals with in a way not usually found in the realms of police crime fiction. She has a great team but someone is leaking details & the evidence is pointing to a member of her squad. Those details pertain to the gruesome, sensitive crime they're currently working on, a series of horrific murders that leave much more damage than just dead bodies. Eve

Eeny Meeny is a suspenseful, fast paced book with a few twists. Helen Grace is a Detective Inspector who is faced with a serial killer the likes of whom she has never encountered before. It soon becomes apparent that the game this killer is playing involves Helen personally, as the victims are all individuals she has helped somehow during her career. In order to stop this killer, Helen has to peel back the layers of her life and face parts of the darkness she keeps hidden within.

Eeny meeny is the title, sounded weird but you get the context after reading through. Comes from the nursery level game eeny meeny miny mo. Neatly executed murder mystery novel. I read both her books back to back. But in the reverse order. So a bit of suspense was taken away. You see second novel , pop goes the weasel has references to this one so you know who survived and all that
