What Members Thought
I should preface this with my two stars is 1) more like 2.5, and 2) probably more due to me than the author. I was disappointed by the horror-meets-paranormal aspect that felt like a cop-out to me -- but I also can see why he made that choice, even if I didn't really enjoy it after the first 20-50 pages. A 15 yr old Dexter type vs. a very unique Demon. Original story with more to it than a scary title.
I'd be wanting to get to this one for quite some time. And it started out pretty awesome, I got into it right away. Then about a third of the way through, he threw me a loop that I just never fully swallowed whole and the rest of the book, while good, lost a bit of steam. I do think the main character, John Wayne Cleaver, is a unique and interesting fellow that I look forward to seeing more of.

I wasn't sure that I would like this book, but as it developed it became intriguing to me. Would he let the monster loose? Could the demon be stopped? I think that everyone has the demon/monster inside of them and that the choices we make determine the answer for ourselves.

This books started off pretty good, but then got a bit far-fetched and it lost its charm a bit.
