Okay, so I'm getting used to reading Richelle Mead. I like her stories, I like her characters, but the way she constructs a story can be clunky. The proofreading isn't great and she clearly does not have kids...she may never have even met a kid (and neither have her editors). The 4 year old that she describes in this book is clearly either severely retarded (which is never mentioned) or Mead got 2 year olds mixed up with 4 year olds. Distracting. The first installment in the Georgina Kincaid series was great. I really like Richelle Mead's writing style. She can craft a story really well and usually, I just can't put her books down. Georgina is a succubus that hates her job, she only wants to take life-force of bad humans with low morals, and even then, you only see her do so twice in the book. I enjoyed this book. I did not know what a succubus was initially. By the end of the book, I was in sympathy with Georgina. I would call this a cozy paranormal story, except "cozy" usually refers to mysteries. I will continue the series as it is a good quick fun read.
