Honestly, this caught me off guard. I was expecting something autobiographical, maybe romantically themed. I have read a lot, and i do mean a lot, of books by comedians discussing their lives or what i assume are hilarious, but still mostly accurate depictions of their lives.
That was not this book. It was about dating today in various places around the world and how it compared to the past. It was well sourced, sited and organized. Ansari was funny and kept things moving.

If you are looking for a comedy-driven book, then this book is not for you. However, if you are interested in looking the sociological history of dating and marriage over the past three or four generations and learning about how technology has changed the process, then I highly recommend this book. Really glad I read this book and

In my education and career as a social researcher, I've read a lot of books and journal on the subject of sexuality and relationships.
Modern Romance is rather unique in its blend of personal musings, comedy, and qualitative research.
Its premise is rather simple, Ansari had some big questions about relationships he wanted to explore and he set out to find answers by speaking to as many people as he could. This was combined with historical context and book research to bring it all together.

I loved every minute of this audio-book. I enjoyed it so much that when I reached the conclusion, I thought, "Already? Noooo." Informative, funny, and full of "I have to make someone else listen to this part" moments.

Excellent insights on the new age in romance and how much technology has influenced it. Love Aziz's humor, laugh out loud humor. Definately recommend.
