Emotional. Gritty. Inspiring. Nicholas Sparks does what he does best. Spin out an emotional, moving drama from hollywood heaven.
A romantic tale of love and sacrifice that have become so forgotten today. A man waits for his love through thick and thin, until she finally comes to him. Marriage follows and they're old when she is struck by Alzheimer's and can't remember a thing. A gripping story of love gained, lost and built again.

🎧 Audiobook Review 🎧

I haven't watched the movie and this book has been languishing on my TBR for many many years. Mostly because I just think it'll be too sad too hard to read. So, it was with no small trepidation I picked this up on audio. I figure it's time to read or unhaul.

The novel opens with an old man reading aloud from his notebook to an old woman in a bed. While that somewhat sets the scene, it didn't really get sad right out from the beginning. The majority of the novel felt very much

I tried to like Nicholas Sparks. Back in the early 2000s, I read a lot of awful books. I just didn't know what I liked and well this kind of stuff was always in my face. I read a couple of his books before I realized I didn't like the author's writing style. I like the movie though. ...more

The love story of Noah and Allie who fall in love over one summer as teenagers. They reunite years later when Allie comes to Visit Noah before her upcoming wedding. I can see why some people would think this was too sappy but I like the story and the ending had me crying buckets.

This is another great one by Sparks. He has a way of writing very simple and easy for the reader. He is a master of placing you right in the middle of a scene where you can almost smell the smells, feel the feeling, see the sights. I loved this book like I loved “The Wedding” .

I saw the movie first and then read the book afterwards. Big mistake! I much preferred the movie. I was really swept along and thoroughly involved in the movie. The book and movie differ at the end and I also preferred the movie's ending. ...more

I LOVED this book. It kept me interested all the way to the end. A wonderful story. Very moving and uplifting. THIS is a LOVE story as contrasted with the prior book I read (The Great Gatsby).

This is one of my favourite sparks books. It is so much better than the movie, i can easily read it again and again, cover to cover.

This was a bit painful to read. Every emotion was spelled out, and the characters had no depth at all.
