Emotional. Gritty. Inspiring. Nicholas Sparks does what he does best. Spin out an emotional, moving drama from hollywood heaven.
A romantic tale of love and sacrifice that have become so forgotten today. A man waits for his love through thick and thin, until she finally comes to him. Marriage follows and they're old when she is struck by Alzheimer's and can't remember a thing. A gripping story of love gained, lost and built again. ...more

This is another great one by Sparks. He has a way of writing very simple and easy for the reader. He is a master of placing you right in the middle of a scene where you can almost smell the smells, feel the feeling, see the sights. I loved this book like I loved “The Wedding” .
I saw the movie first and then read the book afterwards. Big mistake! I much preferred the movie. I was really swept along and thoroughly involved in the movie. The book and movie differ at the end and I also preferred the movie's ending.
