At age 83, Eddie didn't think he led a life that was all that important but then he dies in an accident and when he gets to heaven he meets five people who had a connection to him in one way or another while he was alive on earth and they explain to him how he touched their lives. It's a great story about how a person can impact someone else's life without even realizing it. Very inspiring!

I read this book a few years ago and still replay some of the vignettes of the "people" he met in heaven. They were very powerful stories and makes the point that you have no real idea why you are put in someone's life path. "Thirteen reasons why" is a darker teen version of a similar idea.

I saw a tv movie of this book starring Jon Voight and Michael Imperioli and absolutely loved it. This is one of those rare cases where the movie was better than the book. The fantasy aspect seemed to work better on the screen, and the film wasn't as preachy and saccharine as the book.

This definitely wasn't the finest writing I'd ever read, but love the idea that the people who we affect the most change to aren't major players in our life. It's a book that affirms how we can make a difference - even when we least expect it.

The fct that i love all Mitch Albom's books and in this books he also included a Filipina character plus he also mentioned a nipa hut =) I learned that what we did here on earth will also reflect on what will happen to us when we finally bid farewell to our mother earth. If we ever made mistakes to our past rivals or the people we hate, it's never too late to clear things over or it will forever haunt us.

I read this while house sitting and while it wasn't quite what I expected I enjoyed it. I found it really moving and even shed a tear or two at the end.
