I enjoyed this book. I am a child of the 80's so I loved all the 80's references. I played some of those games like Dungeons and Dragons and MUDS. My first computer was a Comodore 64. I really got into the story. For as technically advanced as that world was, it was still a dystopia. The people spent more time living in the OASIS world than the real world. The OASIS world did sound cool. I tried to figure out the clues along with the the characters to find the "Easter" egg. I was surpried to fin

Okay so this is a pretty fun book and a quick easy read. You would need to be at least in your mid-thirties to really sync with it though. Fortunately I am ancient enough to fit in that age bracket. I loved the eighties, loved my teenage years and all the things in this book that led me back to those years. As an aside, the 80's pop culture in this book is not entirely accurate, still it was entertaining though.

I'm not a gamer, and I really enjoyed this book. I can only imagine that, for someone who is truly into gaming, it would come pretty close to the best book ever.
And behind the power of the plot-line, the race to win the game, is a powerful setting: the real world is so terrible, and virtual reality so easily accessible, that many people essentially live their lives online, rarely bothering with the real world. In 2044 already? Wow!

Main storyline is exciting in parts. Goblet of Fire-esque adventure with puzzles 'n such.
Overall, I guess I don't get why people dig this book so much? Name drops pop culture s*it just because it can. This often impedes the storyline from actually moving along. Treats its audience like they're idiots by over explaining basic geeky concepts.
Every character is a boring stereotype.

Quite the exciting listen! Really interesting and enveloping story and Wil Wheaton is a wonderful reader!
Wow! This was super fantastic!
This book will date quickly with all the references to 80s culture. Also, unless you're a geek, don't bother. Once we're past that, this is a straightforward "our heroes verses the evil empire" story. Nothing particularly surprising other than everyone is raving about it so much.
